Tuesday morning in Sapporo

Good morning all,

We had a quiet night at home so not too much for the blog.  Below is a photo of me studying something in the living room.

Here is a photo of the trash collection point by our house.  The trash system is very confusing.  We only just found English directions for when to put out the trash.  There are seven different categories for the trash and each one has a different collection day.  Some things, like burnable food scraps are collected twice weekly.  Some other things are only collected monthly.  This morning we put our trash out for the first time.  We put the burnable food waste bag under the blue netting.  The trash bag for burnable waste is a special yellow bag that you pay extra for at the store.  The cost of the bag pays for the trash collection.
Here is a random sign that I like.  The Kanji looks similar to the arrows.
Here is one of the older American style buildings on campus with a fleet of bicycles in front.
This guy, William S. Clark, is an American who founded the University of Hokkaido.  He is famous for saying "boys be ambitious."  You can learn more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_S._Clark

Here are more photos of the campus.

I really like the crosswalk signs here.  A man with a hat.  I have not seen any men wearing this type of hat here, but who knows.
That's all for now,

-Kyle (and Bre)
